Philip Sparke has just completed his fourth Euphonium Concerto, Omaggio, Steven Mead who commissioned the work, chats with him about this incredible piece of music. He reveals his compositional process, where the inspiration comes from, how a work grows and how he managed to introduce Steve's late father's favourite hymn into the last movement.
